Twisted Wedge® 11R 227 cylinder heads represent Trick Flow's ultimate development of the Twisted Wedge® innovation, featuring Trick Flow's most efficient combustion chamber design. The combustion chamber and valve layout move the intake valves away from the cylinder walls to reduce valve shrouding, significantly improving flow at higher lift. Shallow 11° intake/13° exhaust valve angles improve piston-to-valve clearance for high lift cams and reduce chamber volume for improved compression and efficiency. High velocity runners are optimized on the flow bench and dyno proven to outperform the competition on hydraulic roller camshaft engines. Premium materials and components, along with world-class CNC processes, guarantee uncompromising quality and durability, dimensional accuracy, and balanced flow from port-to-port. Machined castings increase strength and have a billet-like appearance. Their airtight sealing allows the engine to pull greater vacuum for improved ring seal and power. The covers are available plain or with the Moroso logo, natural or black anodized—and mount with either a centerbolt or perimeter bolts. ICON Premium forged pistons are designed to be application specific and are made from either 4032 or 2618 aluminum. 2618 aluminum has a lower silicon content and is better suited for engine combinations with high compression or a power adder. A byproduct of having a lower silicon content is an increased rate of thermal expansion. Because of this, pistons made from 2618 require more piston-to-cylinder wall clearance than their 4032 counterparts. ICON Premium forged anodized pistons include all the features of an FHR piston, with the addition of an anodized top ring groove and crown, precision CNC-machined valve reliefs and crown features, pressure fed pin bore oiling, and skirt and pin boss struts for increased strength and durability.
