Designed just for racecars, Moroso's positive-locking valve cover breathers meet the rules for cars running 7.99 seconds and faster. They rely on threaded collars that mount on the inside of the valve covers, through the standard 1.22 in. opening, to provide secure attachment. They also have internal stainless steel baffling to keep oil and air separated. Jam nuts allow the breathers to be positioned in any way necessary to suit plumbing requirements, and Buna-N gaskets that are resistant to oil, alcohol, and race fuel are used to form an airtight seal. Mounting hardware is included.

On steep inclines/declines, engine oil flows to the rear/front of the engine and valve covers. At extreme angles, the factory PCV system allows engine vacuum to draw oil through the PCV valve and intake into the combustion chamber. This causes exhaust smoke from the burning oil and possibly hydro-locking the engine, as well as other internal damage.
