These High Energy hydraulic lifters from COMP Cams feature a patented, constant orifice-metering valve that precisely meters oil to the rocker arms. Continuous contact between the metering valve and the precisely coined bottom surface of the pushrod seat is maintained throughout the engine's rpm range, eliminating excessive oiling at high speeds. The pushrod seat is made of a special powdered metal iron alloy, heat-treated for strength and wear resistance. The longer piston is produced with through-hardened steel that provides more bearing surface and increased lifter longevity. These lifters have a lightweight check valve disk that allows for quicker response, resulting in increased engine speed before valve float.

As with all other areas in the valvetrain, the area where the spring sits also takes a beating. The old standard shims and/or seats simply will not hold up to the extreme pressures and high rpm found in today's performance engines. COMP Cams valve spring locators solve this problem and eliminate failures.

Valve springs are one of the most critical and overlooked components in your engine. They must be matched to your cam in order for the engine to reach its full potential. It does absolutely no good to install a cam that will perform up to 8,000 rpm if you do not have the correct springs. Use the only valve springs that will give the recommended spring pressure with the valve both on the seat and at maximum lift. COMP Cams valve springs are offered in single and dual styles to meet your cam requirements.

Get oil filtration that's as good as gold with K&N Performance Gold oil filters. Keep your engine free from contaminants as small as 10 microns. They use a resin-impregnated filter media to provide maximum filtering and an inner core to lend extra structural support to the filter, preventing filter collapse. Plus, many of these K&N oil filters have an anti-drainback valve (where applicable) that eliminates dry starts and prevents oil from draining back into the crankcase during engine shutdown. And they're protected by a heavy-duty outer shell that guards against rock and stone damage and provides over 550 psi hydrostatic burst strength. So, if you want golden-level oil protection, then you want K&N oil filters.

The new COMP Cams DLC High Energy hydraulic lifters perform mechanically just as COMP's well-known High Energy line, but with the added benefit of a DLC surface treatment. This produces a flat tappet lifters with an extremely hard, tough, and slick face that reduces friction at the cam lobe. The unique coating extends the life of the lifter and camshaft, significantly reducing the likelihood of a flattened cam lobe. Additionally, COMP Cams DLC High Energy hydraulic lifters virtually eliminate the need for the traditional break-in procedure associated with cast iron camshafts and flat tappet lifters. They maintain the excellent hydraulic performance that the High Energy Hydraulic Lifters have provided for many years.

Valve springs are one of the most critical and overlooked components in your engine. They must be matched to your cam in order for the engine to reach its full potential. Summit Racing™ springs are made from high quality steel with precision winding and surface treatments. Special consideration for reduced valvespring and retainer mass ensures stability at high rpm. This reduces valve float, extends the rpm range, and greatly reduces valvetrain wear.

Clevite H-Series rod bearings were developed primarily for use in NASCAR type racing but are suitable for all types of competition engines. These H-Series bearings have a medium level of eccentricity, high crush factor, and have hardened steel backs and thin overlays. They also have enlarged chamfers for greater crankshaft fillet clearance and are made without flash plating for better seating. Bearings with .001 in. extra clearance are available for standard size shafts and with or without dowel holes. H-Series bearings are recommended for use with crankshafts that have oversize fillets and where engines run in the medium to high rpm range. They should also be used if contact patterns obtained with Clevite P-Series bearings are too narrow. Contact patterns should ideally cover 2/3 to 3/4 of the bearing surface.

These COMP Cams Hi-Tech 210 degree pushrods were specifically designed for high-lift applications where pushrod and seat interference are problems at maximum lift. They're heat-treated to a minimum hardness of 60 on the Rockwell C scale, for the ultimate in strength. COMP Cams even gives them a black oxide finish and imprints the length and part number on them. In addition, they feature a 210 degree radius, rather than the standard 180 degree radius, so they'll work great with rocker arms that feature cup-type adjusters and applications requiring more load-bearing surface from the pushrod. If you are building a high-horsepower, high-rpm, high-lift camshaft engine, then you need to use these COMP Cams Hi-Tech 210 degree pushrods for maximum reliability.

Clevite coated H-Series rod bearings were developed primarily for NASCAR racing, but are also well suited to other types of competition engines. They're especially good for engines that run at medium-to-high revs. They have hardened-steel backings with thin overlays and a high crush factor, plus a medium level of eccentricity. H-Series bearings feature Clevite's exclusive TriArmor coating, the industry's only moly/graphite treatment. The sophisticated blend, in a low-friction PTFE polymer base, offers extraordinary protection and lubricity. They also have enlarged chamfers at the sides for greater crank-fillet clearance and are made without flash plating for better seating. The Clevite coated H-Series rod bearings are available with various under-sizes, including 0.001 in. of clearance for polished journals.

ARP High Performance Series rocker arm studs are ideal for ET bracket racing, limited rule oval track competition, or street use. Made from 8740 chromoly steel and are heat-treated to 180,000 psi tensile strength, they are concentric within .005 T.I.R. thread pitch to thread pitch, which will give you more consistent rocker geometry. With an extra-large radius base, they are more resistant to flex and will provide a more positive seating. These rocker arm studs are designed to be used with Perma-Loc adjusters (not for use with OEM-style, self-locking nuts).

COMP Cams's XD-A pushrods offer a game-changing method for accurately setting lash or pre-load while using non-adjustable-style rockers. These patent-pending pushrods incorporate a top section that slides 2 in. inside a wider bottom section, with one or two shims captured in-between. Proven to 9,000-plus rpm in solid roller LS applications, the system provides a 90 percent increase in bending stiffness for enhanced valvetrain stability. It also allows for lightening of a rocker arm system by 30-plus grams on the backside by removing the adjuster and required support area for threads and seating. The use of lighter rockers with XD-A adjustable pushrods allow higher rpm to be achieved by creating a much more dynamically stable valvetrain system. COMP Cam XD-A pushrods are designed especially for engines with low-mass rocker arms and a light valvetrain with drop-in fitment in LS engines. They can be adjusted over a range of .172 in. in .004 in. increments with shims. Choose the pushrods with the adjustment range needed for your setup.
