Chevrolet Performance Stock Replacement Non-DOD Camshafts
If you're looking for a cost-effective camshaft solution to delete that pesky DOD—Chevrolet Performance stock replacement non-DOD camshafts are the answer. They're designed to work with OEM valve springs/pushrods in the DOD-equipped Gen 4 trucks. These OEM camshafts are standard equipment on non-DOD 5.3L trucks. Since they come as a single-bolt style, new timing gear won't be necessary. Just swap cams and additional DOD delete parts (sold separately) and you're ready to roll! A fairly stock truck shouldn't require dyno tuning; however, the DOD system must be disabled in ECU for proper functionality. It is advised to consult with your tuner for more information. Melling Timing Chain Sets
Melling timing chain sets are designed for use with either performance or stock cams. They have a solid-bushing chain for a true bearing surface that rolls with the sprockets, eliminating chain stretch. The crank gears are machined from stress-proof steel. Most Melling timing chain sets have three keyways to ensure accurate timing for early or late model vehicles, and to allow you to set the cam timing at 4 degrees advanced, 4 degrees retarded, or stock. However, 50-state (stock replacement) sets have single keyways. The chains are available in several styles, such as single or double roller, single non-roller, and link belt. Improved Racing Crank Scraper and Windage Tray Kits
With the installation an Improved Racing crank scraper and windage tray kit, you'll enjoy additional horsepower and improved oil control from your factory 3.622 in. or aftermarket 4.000 in. stroke LS engine. They reduce oil starvation by closely following the contours of the crankshaft and connecting rods to remove excess oil, ensuring oil is quickly returned to the bottom of the sump.
