When mating a transmission to an engine, proper alignment is difficult--and it's also critical to make sure the bellhousing bolts and block dowels index correctly. Summit Racing™ transmission guide dowels assist with alignment by threading into the engine block to help guide the two together. These pins are tapered and the heads are slotted, so after you get a couple of bellhousing bolts in you can take a small screwdriver and remove them and replace them with the proper bolts.
