When mating a transmission to an engine, proper alignment of the 2 can get difficult. It's also critical to make sure the bellhousing and block dowels index correctly to get the bolts started. Summit Racing™ Transmission Alignment Guide pins simulate the bolts and assist with alignment by threading into the engine block to help guide the two together. The pins are tapered and the heads are slotted, so you mate the two together, start a couple of bellhousing bolts and then you can take a small screwdriver and remove them and replace them with the proper bolts.
