COMP Cams's XD-A pushrods offer a game-changing method for accurately setting lash or pre-load while using non-adjustable-style rockers. These patent-pending pushrods incorporate a top section that slides 2 in. inside a wider bottom section, with one or two shims captured in-between. Proven to 9,000-plus rpm in solid roller LS applications, the system provides a 90 percent increase in bending stiffness for enhanced valvetrain stability. It also allows for lightening of a rocker arm system by 30-plus grams on the backside by removing the adjuster and required support area for threads and seating. The use of lighter rockers with XD-A adjustable pushrods allow higher rpm to be achieved by creating a much more dynamically stable valvetrain system. COMP Cam XD-A pushrods are designed especially for engines with low-mass rocker arms and a light valvetrain with drop-in fitment in LS engines. COMP Cams XFI VSR Modular 3V (Valve Springs Required) Camshafts deliver a great power improvement over stock levels. These cams are the next step up from the COMP Cams NSR (No Springs Required) Cams and represent a major upgrade in power production. When compared to the NSR, stock valve spring compatible cam series, the VSR cams offer a substantial power gain in the higher rpm ranges. To achieve this, a high-lift design that requires a COMP Cams Beehive Valve Spring upgrade was created to maximize power within the limits of the OEM unmodified cam phasers. These new VSR camshafts are available for both naturally aspirated and supercharged engines, with two levels available in each series; one designed for maximizing mid-range power and torque, while the other maximizes top end horsepower. The performance secret behind these camshafts is in the extensive dyno testing that allowed them to determine precise cam timing events. Combining these optimized timing events with a high-lift lobe design offers substantial improvements in both power and throttle response. When building a high performance engine with a solid or solid roller cam, it's necessary to meter the amount of oil going through the lifters and up to the rocker arms. Too much oil to the top will starve the main and rod bearings and cause engine failure. COMP Cams oil restrictors are easy-to-use parts and should be considered when installing a solid lifter or a solid roller camshaft. Simply screw directly into the oil gallery with no machine work.
