Everything from casting techniques to valve spring clearance was scrutinized to ensure that Ultra Pro Magnum rocker arms not only lived up to the lofty standards of their predecessor, but also took stud mount rocker performance, stability, and value to a whole new level. The most noticeable advancement centers around their nearly unbreakable investment cast 8650 chromoly body. The arched, web-like design delivers a nearly 29 percent increase in strength and rigidity, while reducing the moment of inertia and optimizing the dynamic balance. The resulting rockers maximize lift and valvetrain control at high rpm. The increased retainer and valve spring clearances of the new design enable the use of large-diameter valve springs, retainers, and locks, without clearance or fitment issues. The new black oxide exterior finish offers a distinctive appearance, along with long-term corrosion resistance. The COMP Cams Ultra Pro Magnum rocker arms feature an oversized trunnion and precision-sorted needle bearings designed for use with high-load valve springs. These unique rockers also feature hardened roller tips for reduced friction and elimination of the valve stem "side loading" that causes premature valve guide wear.

COMP Cams shaft mount aluminum rocker arms are one of the most cost-effective ways to increase horsepower. These shaft rockers were designed using the latest in computer software and engineering. They center the roller tip over the valve tip at the correct time so that the roller tip is never more than 0.020 in. off-center of the valve tip. At the greatest load point, the roller tip contact is on the center of the valve. At valve closing, the roller tip contact is slightly behind the valve centerline. When the valve is at full open, the tip contact is slightly behind the centerline of the valve. The results are more horsepower and better performance.

To make the most power from your engine, you need to optimize the air ingested and captured by avoiding valves closing too soon or too late. COMP Cams 4-pattern hydraulic roller camshafts are the first series of cams designed to accommodate a difference in runner length and avoid valves closing at the wrong times. Any conventional center-layout single throttle body or carbureted V8 intake manifold features longer outboard runners and shorter inboard runners, meaning that each valve event should occur at a different moment. COMP Cams has designed a series of cams that optimizes valve events and features a large increase in both area under the curve and stability at high rpm. They feature four different lobe patterns with one intake and exhaust design for outboard runners and another intake and exhaust design for the inboard runners. While the four central cylinders are all the same grinds, the outboard exhaust openings are two degrees earlier, with outboard intake closings coming two degrees later. NASCAR has been utilizing this technology for years. COMP Cams is now applying this same knowledge in street vehicles to balance air/fuel ratio per cylinder. These cams are CNC-ground from steel billet cores. They feature cast iron distributor gears and utilize a series of lobes with over .600 in. valve lift and stability up to 7,500 rpm, all while providing more consistent cylinder to cylinder torque. They also feature tight lobe separation for both excellent power and a throaty sound. Designed for small block Chevy, big block Chevy, and small block Ford carbureted or fuel injected applications, the design is exclusive and unique to COMP Cams.

They're available in both needle-bearing and bushing configurations. Each design features two pressurized EDM oil feeds, as well as an edge-orifice feed to the wheel. This delivers a more reliable oil feed than most competing options. COMP Cams Sportsman solid roller lifters are also designed with a shallower oil band than competitors' versions for increased strength and rigidity, while internal machining helps to reduce weight. The body utilizes a skirted wheel that strengthens the lifter ears, and the skirt also provides more contact area with the lifter bore for further lifter stabilization. In addition, staked axles eliminate clips and provide robust axle retention. This feature increases the stiffness of the lifter ears and helps to prevent the ears from spreading.
