Plus, moving cold oil robs power. These thermostats are designed to bypass the cooler until the oil reaches 215 degrees. Improved Racing's LS oil cooler block-off/bypass cover plates install over the oil cooler ports found on most LS-Series oil pans, and can be used to delete the oil cooler circuit. Available with or without sensor/turbo feed ports, the bypass covers are CNC-machined from billet 6061 T-6 aluminum and then Type II anodized in black and laser marked. They feature a large ported internal cavity with smooth features to improve flow characteristics when compared to the factory diecast bypass cover.
