Hybrid Racing offers low temp thermostats for a variety of applications, including many Honda© and Acura© models from 1990 and up. The advantages of using a low-temperature thermostat in high performance or race environments are evident. Opening the thermostat's valve at a lower temperature allows coolant to flow more freely during low-load sections of the racetrack. This enables the radiator to effectively regulate the engine's temperature within the optimal range during high-load sections. If a cooling system is pushed to its limits at the racetrack and overheating becomes an issue, a low-temperature thermostat can often resolve this problem. It achieves this by allowing the radiator to perform more cooling at lower engine loads, thereby preventing or delaying overheating during high-engine loads. Drag Race Solutions one-piece top expansion portions are machined with female straight O-ring port in the front--allowing you to use the fitting size you need for your application. Improved Racing created the first bolt-on automatic transmission fluid adapter with a thermostat for GM's 6L, 8L, and 10L automatic transmissions. Each adapter's built-in thermostat automatically bypasses the transmission cooler until the fluid reaches operating temperature. The thermostat reduces rough shifts caused by overcooled transmission fluid, reduces wear, and improves efficiency and horsepower. Your transmission can now reach operating temps quickly while retaining the cooling capacity needed for high load activities such as towing or racing. It's the best of both worlds! Adapter model TGM-100-T2 features SAE female -6 AN O-ring boss ports that accept adapter fittings for 5/16, 3/8, 1/2 in. hose barbs or male AN fittings. This allows you to run common rubber transmission cooler lines or braided AN lines. Hard tube adapters may also be used to connect the factory lines directly to the adapter (may require minor bending or adjustment of factory lines). Important application notes: * The adapter can only be used in conjunction with external transmission fluid coolers. * The adapter does not directly connect to the factory hard lines.
