EPAS Performance electric power steering kits provide modern power steering for your classic car. These performance systems are available to outfit a wide range of vintage and classic vehicles from 1920-1980. An easy step-by-step installation manual is available online for each of the kits that EPAS offers. There is no major or irreversible modifications made to your vehicle, as everything is located under your dash and is almost, if not completely, invisible. How the systems work: The computer measures the amount of effort on the steering wheel and amplifies it with the aid of the electric motor. A potentiometer allows you to have more or less assistance, so you can adjust the amount of power assist. EPAS Performance's Hydroelectric Pump System has a program that works with an angle sensor and CAN protocol. The converter talks to the pump via the angle sensor, ramping up the system's pressure as needed. There is no noticeable delay or drop in pressure when input at the steering wheel is exerted. This steering conversion kit includes 6 ft. of high-pressure sending hose, 6 ft. of low-pressure return hose, and the power cords are 10 ft. in length. An oil cooler can be added for racing applications. The wiring harness is essentially plug-and-play, and only requires a hot ignition source and full battery power. System draw is anywhere between 1 amp to 45 amps, spending most of its time in the lower amp range. Maximum pressure of the unit is rated at 1900 psi @ 5 gpm; and the absolute maximum length of the pressure hose and return lines is 17 ft. Rock Jock High Steer Knuckle Kits for all Jeep JL and JT models is a game changer, packed with features that improve the off-road capabilities, as well as the on-road drivability of your vehicle! Intended for use on factory axles, these kits replace the inferior factory aluminum knuckles with cast iron high steer knuckles that exceed OEM quality and strength. They raise the tie rod 2 3/4 in. and the drag link 2 1/2 in., moving the rods out of the way of rocks and helping to restore factory steering geometry for improved drivability and overall road comfort on a lifted Jeep. The new knuckles also feature two adjustable steering stop locations for full lock-to-lock adjustability which helps ease the strain on steering components at full lock. Stock ball joints, unit bearings, axles, brakes and dust shields are all retained. Rock Jock's Currectlync steering included in these kits features revolutionary high articulation forged chromoly drag link that incorporates a unique organic shape with many compound curves—which can only be achieved via forging, resulting in maximum up-travel capabilities. The tie rod is a 42mm (1 5/8 in.) diameter chromoly tube. All Currectlync steering ends are forged steel and comparable in size to those found on modern 1-ton trucks.
