UMI Performance Torque Arm Relocation Kits
UMI Performance torque arm relocation kits are designed to remove the front mounting point of the torque arm off of the transmission and protect the tailshaft from damage. General Motors' tailshaft mounted design works great for a stock-driven vehicle; however, it is not designed to take abuse and hard launches. UMI Performance torque arm relocation kits replace your transmission crossmember with a new, stronger setup with a built-in torque arm mount. Each relocation kit is designed to fit a specific transmission and will work with virtually any stock-style aftermarket torque arm, as well as with the factory torque arm. These units are built using rectangular mild steel tubing and 0.188 in. mild steel mounting plates and they include all hardware needed for installation. The torque arm mount is machined from 0.250 in. thick mild steel and features a new clamshell for appropriately attaching the torque arm to the new crossmember.

Mount your lower control arms using heavy-duty replacement brackets from Artec Industries. They're made from 1/4 in. in. thick steel plate for strength and have grease fitting access on top to allow easy maintenance of your joint. The brackets have a 2.625 in. mounting width with 9/16 in. bolt hole for common sized style cartridge joints. The skid plate on the bottom of each bracket wraps around the joint, protecting it from direct impact and decreasing premature wear; this skid plate design does not restrict movement of the joint. Allstar Performance clamp-on trailing arm brackets are offered in steel and aluminum versions. The steels models are universal brackets to mount coilover eliminator and shock next to axle and mount trailing arm 4 1/2 in. below the axle centerline, either inside or outside of the bracket. They allow Limited Late Models and Modifieds to be changed from coilover to a coilover eliminator and shock. They include Grade 5 hardware and Nyloc nuts. The aluminum brackets clamp to a 3 in. diameter axle tube, has three 3/4 in.-10 mounting holes for trailing arm location, and a 1/2 in.-13 socket head bolt with two 1/4 in. spacers for mounting a coilover shock. An additional locking bolt installs into the axle tube to help prevent the bracket from turning. They can be used on the right- or left-hand side of housing.

UMI Performance Tunnel Mounted Torque Arm Relocation Kits
UMI Performance offers tunnel mounted torque arm relocation kits for a variety of 1982-92 GM F-Body vehicles, including Chevy Camaros and Pontiac Firebirds. These TH350 transmission mounts come with an added bushing mount to be used with UMI's tunnel-mounted torque arm. They are the same mount supplied with UMI's 2214 tunnel-mounted torque arm setup.
