Global West shock crossmembers provide the needed support to the rear shock mount area on specific year/make and model vehicles. The reason for the rear shock mount is due to the use of air shocks, as well as coilover applications. When installing a coilover kit or air shock, you're transferring the load of the cars weight from the lower control arm location to the shock location, which was never designed to support the weight of the vehicle. When you add shock crossmembers, they strengthen that area and support the new load, reducing the possibility of damaging the frame at that location.
