Mini-Tubs vs. Full-Size Tubs

The difference between full-size wheel tubs and mini-tubs comes down to how much modification you want to perform on the structure of the vehicle. Mini tub kits usually fit inside the existing frame (or subframe on a unibody vehicle), but some require some notching. Full tubs accommodate larger tires—like drag slicks—and require extensive modifications, usually involving a rear frame rail kit to attach the suspension to the vehicle. Exact sizes and installation procedures will vary from vehicle to vehicle.
