BD Diesel Engine Exhaust Brakes
BD Engine Brakes enable your diesel to navigate downhill grades and mountainous terrain easier and safer than the vehicle's conventional braking system. This will increase the life of the stock foundation brakes and prevent brake fade under severe-grade driving. The factory-approved backpressure provides the retarding horsepower to slow down the vehicle on even the steepest descents, or just for a highway off-ramp. The exhaust flow is not restricted when the stainless butterfly is open in the large 4 in. casting that bolts into the exhaust system. The kits come with a lighted toggle switch for mounting conveniently on the dash. The brake releases as soon as the throttle is applied or the switch is flipped off. As with other BD designs, the backpressure is self-regulating. Once the pressure reaches specification, the butterfly position changes to maintain the highest pressure possible. This variable orifice design offers far superior retarding performance throughout the engine rpm range, compared to a fixed orifice design that only offers peak retarding performance at peak rpm.

Moser Engineering Drag Brake Kits
Moser Engineering drag brake kits deliver a new standard for safety and performance in Pro Drag disc brake kits. With over 4 years of R&D and track testing to assure reliability and performance, these drag brake kits instill confidence like no other. Beginning with the caliper, Moser Engineering designed a competition race series 4-piston aluminum anodized forged billet caliper made of 6061 T-6 billet aluminum instead of a cheaper cast caliper. The anodized finish helps eliminate corrosion and preventable wear. A dual pin is used for pad retention and O-rings are used to eliminate pad chatter. Stainless steel pistons and PTFE coated one-piece bleeder screws are included in the design with dual crossover ports for quicker fluid release on the outboard pistons. Another Moser feature is the caliper and rotor design that allow for 25 percent more pad contact area than other calipers and allow for a 20 percent thicker pad than most of the competition. Kits ship with industry leading Hawk HP PLUS pads that lean on their years of expertise in racing brake pad design and compounds.
