Confused by classic brake components? Let the automotive experts at Summit Racing put a stop to that!

Drum brake vehicles use a distribution block to turn your pedal press into brake line pressure at all four wheels.

Metering blocks balance out the activation of the rear drum brakes and front disc brakes, preventing nose-dive.

Because drum brakes lock up more easily than disc brakes, vehicles with rear drums use a proportioning valve to moderate the pressure to them. Adjustable proportioning valves let you tune that cut-off pressure.

Engine Works Billet Aluminum Proportioning Valves

Engine Works billet aluminum proportioning valves are lightweight, adjustable braking components designed to fine-tune brake bias by reducing line pressure to the rear brakes up to 60 percent. Engineered from anodized billet aluminum with anti-corrosive brass internals, they're used to prevent rear-wheel lockup in racing, drifting, and custom disc brake conversions. Key details: * Features a knob for precise adjustments, with a pressure range typically between 100-1,000 psi * Ideal for custom applications (drum-to-disc conversions, modified suspensions) where rear brakes may lock up due to improper balance * Generally features 1/8 in.-27 NPT inlet/outlet ports and includes 3/16 in. hard tube adapters * Allows drivers to decrease rear brake pressure to prevent premature rear-wheel lock-up. These valves offer a durable, high performance solution to balance brake systems, particularly under extreme heat and pressure conditions

Tilton Brake Proportioning Valves

Tilton's lightweight, adjustable, billet aluminum, hydraulic brake proportioning valves make it easy for crew members or drivers to make quick, precise adjustments to brake bias. Lever types have seven distinct "click-stop" positions, and their big, bright red handles make determining the level of bias selected as easy as a quick glance. Knob types offer the ability to vary the adjustment in bigger or smaller increments as needed, simply by turning the knurled knob more or less.
