A 4-wheel disc brake upgrade (Corvette-style 4-piston calipers for both front and rear) was offered on the 1968 Camaro as a "heavy-duty service" package sold through Chevrolet car dealers. In 1969, a JL8 package could be ordered as a RPO on production vehicles. These unique, high-end brakes were very rare, being sold on only about 200 production vehicles. With all of the popular 4x4 axle upgrades and rear disc brake conversions available, sometimes the parking brake mechanism is deleted or rendered inoperable. The All-Pro transfer case mounted disc parking brake caliper kits solve this and other issues by placing the parking brake on the output shaft of the transfer case. The kits hook up directly to the stock parking brake cable and provide dramatically increased braking over the stock parking brake. Taking advantage of the gear ratio in the differential to multiply the force applied to hold the truck in place, these kits will hold your truck on a 45-degree hill with the tranny in neutral! As an added bonus, the kits have fewer parts to maintain and no low-hanging cables to snag on rocks! Simply bolt one of the kits onto the back of the transfer case with no driveshaft modifications needed. They fit 1984-95 gear drive 4-cylinder transfer case equipped pickups and Toyota 4Runners (V6 and automatic applications are not available)—and can be used with drum or disc rear brakes.
