The forged construction offers 25 percent higher tensile strength and 35 percent higher fatigue strength than cast hubs. An EDP coating adds a layer of corrosion resistance. They're manufactured on CNC machines using CAD-CAM design for perfect balance and alignment, then coated with silver zinc to resist corrosion. These rotors provide you with maximum stopping power, reduced warping, and longer life. The cross-drilled holes and slots provide an exit route for gasses and dust, resulting in better heat dissipation and less brake fade under hard use. Other solid-surface rotors allow gasses to create a cushion between the pad and the brake rotor, resulting in poor brake performance. The cross-drilled holes and slots clear away harmful gasses, restoring full pad-to-rotor contact. These coated rotors are a terrific performance upgrade when replacing your brakes. REKUDO disc brake dust shields are supporting parts for the REKUDO Suspension and JL8 brake system. The 4-wheel disc brake upgrade (Corvette-style, 4-piston calipers for both front and rear) was offered on the 1968 Camaro as a "heavy-duty service" package sold through the parts counter at Chevrolet car dealers. In 1969, the 4-piston disc brakes could be ordered as a Regular Production Option (RPO) JL8 package on production vehicles. These high-end brakes were made available to support racing programs like the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), and Trans-Am road racing series. This unique brake option is very rare and was only sold on about 200 production vehicles.
