Garrett GTX Gen 1 Series turbochargers are the posterchild of the company's turbo lineup. These dual ball bearing units have an oil and water-cooled center cartridge. The original GT3582R model paved the way for many performance enthusiasts, earning its place as the best all-around turbo on the market for most peoples' needs. The new billet version makes more power, spools faster, and delivers even better performance. Garrett's ball bearing cartridge has proven its worth in the highest level of motorsports—where it's been the bearing system of choice in CART FEDEX ChampCar Series, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, World Rally Championship, and most recently drag racing. These premier racing customers demand no less than the best in durability, reliability, and power-on-demand. One key contributor to this performance lies in the ball bearing cartridge where it is, by design, surrounded by a thin film of oil. The oil film damps out destructive vibrations that would otherwise compromise turbo durability. Turbocharger tech features: * Horsepower: 450 – 700 hp * Displacement: 2.0 - 4.5L * Forged, fully-machined 11-blade compressor wheel * New 8mm ceramic ball bearing cartridge * Ported shroud compressor housing to increase surge resistance * Compressor side: TRIM 58 A/R 0.70 * Compressor air inlet: 4.00 in. * Compressor air outlet: 2.50 in. * Turbine side: TRIM 84 * Bearing housing: Oil and water-cooled system * Turbine housing and actuator not included Note: Garrett has changed the part number on this turbo.
