In 1999, GFB's first Hybrid valve pioneered the dual port design, which was so successful, and the technology has since been adopted by most other brands. These flanges are cast from 304 stainless steel and then milled flat for a consistent seal on the header gasket, unlike laser-cut flanges that often have some warping. The 1/2 in. thickness provides enough rigidity and strength to support the weight of long tube headers and turbos. The port openings are counterbored for the tube diameter to locate and simplify the welding and smooth the transition into the tube without interfering with the gasket surface.
