Superchargers and turbochargers are an incredibly popular way to make gobs of power and maximize the efficiency of your vehicle—and Summit Racing Equipment has the best selection around! Let’s break down the main differences of each, so you can figure out what route to take on your own ride!
Superchargers are driven directly by your engine. They are attached to your crankshaft by a belt, so as engine speed increases, so does your supercharger speed. You can increase or decrease the speed of the supercharger by changing the size of the pulleys, allowing you to fine-tune your boost to the desired level. Because of their relationship to engine speed, superchargers commonly provide a power curve that increases with engine rpm, delivering boost with rapid response.
There are two main styles of superchargers: Roots and centrifugal. Roots-style superchargers use a pair of rotors within a housing to force air at higher than atmospheric pressure into your engines. The rotors can have a varying number of lobes and may be twisted, affecting how the air flows through the supercharger. Centrifugal style superchargers utilize a gearbox to spin a shaft, which is connected to compressor wheel, drawing in ambient air and compressing it on its way to the engine.
Turbochargers utilize the exhaust gases produced by your engine to spin a turbine wheel located inside the turbocharger housing, which is connected to a compressor wheel by a shaft. As the two wheels turn, ambient air is sucked into the turbocharger’s compressor inlet and pushed into the engine. That air charge is often passed through an intercooler to increase its density.
Choosing the right turbocharger kit for your vehicle can be daunting, with factors like tubing size, A/R ratio, and multiple other factors to consider. However, Summit Racing makes it easy by offering turbocharger kits custom-designed for a wide range of vehicles, so you can get all the benefits without major engineering work.

Magnuson supercharger kits make power you can live with! Magnuson's powertrain integration technology offers you the ability to have big horsepower and drivability in the same supercharger. This technology recalibrates the engine and transmission control programs to work with the altered induction path and boost pressure of the supercharger. And that produces a seamless and consistent delivery of power over the entire rpm range--not just the high end! For you, that means Magnuson superchargers will boost your power output, and yet run like their factory installed units. Whether you're driving a Corvette or a Cadillac, a Silverado or a Hummer, or a Camaro or a Mustang, Magnuson supercharger kits deliver maximum performance!

RIPP Superchargers 2015-17 Jeep Wrangler JK supercharger kits feature a Vortech V3 self-contained centrifugal supercharger, an air-to-air front mounted intercooler, larger plug-and-play primary injectors, and a proprietary plug-and-play map sensor. RIPP requires your vehicle's VIN and odometer mileage to send out a new PCM that will work in your Jeep as well as a DiabloSport inTune. You will replace your Jeep's PCM with the Diablo Modified one (it's only four screws to unhook). Once that's complete, you install the tune with your DiabloSport tuner and you're ready to go! If you need to go to the dealership for service work, all you would need to do is re-install your original PCM and they will not be able to tell that you have done any modifications. These supercharger kits bolt on in six to eight hours and are considered the most complete, easy-to-install systems on the market. RIPP Superchargers has spent an enormous amount of time tuning in all conditions, including high altitudes, hot/dry deserts, and cold/wet climates, to provide you with better drive quality.

ZZPerformance offers modular supercharger pulleys for a variety of applications, including 2004-05 Buick, Chevy, and Pontiac engines. The aluminum pulleys are available in a range of outside diameters, with a black or clearcoat finish. Each pulley system includes hub, pulley of your choice, five stainless socket cap button screws, and one barbed retainer to replace the breather bolt. After removing the stock pulley, the ZZP steel hub presses on using the same pulley tool used to remove the factory pulley. No jaw-style puller should be used to remove a supercharger pulley. If it is used, it will destroy the pulley and possibly damage the supercharger. Once installed, the hub allows quick-changing of pulleys with an Allen wrench. The ZZP modular pulley system (MPS) allows you to change between pulleys depending on conditions; use one pulley for street use and a smaller for the track or when running high octane fuel. An MPS is a must for those planning to continue to modify their car in the future. ZZPerformance pulleys come with eight ribs on them, but a 6-rib belt will still work completely fine. * Fits: -- Pontiac Grand Prix GTP or 06+ GT -- Buick Regal GS -- Pontiac Bonneville SSEi -- 2004+ Impala SS -- 2004+ Monte Carlo SS * Pulley recommendations: -- 3.5 pulley for 01-03 GTP/GS with ZZP PCM, Tstat, colder plugs, bolt in downpipe, and a cold air intake -- 3.5 in. for 2004+ Grand Prix recommended for cars with 1.9 rockers, Tstat, colder plugs, some exhaust work, and a cold air intake -- 3.4 in. for 1997-2000 GTP/GS with ZZP PCM, Tstat, colder plugs, bolt in downpipe, and a cold air intake -- 3.3 in. pulley requires a small cam or headers or any SS intercooler -- 3.2 in. pulley requires a XP cam or a SS intercooler with 1.9 rockers -- 3.0 in. pulley requires larger injectors and a full-size intercooler -- 2.8 in. pulley requires a cam, intercooler, and headers

Maintain your engine's heat transfer with a Spectra Premium charge air cooler. They feature all-aluminum construction and are assembled from component tubes, fins, and internal fins. The intercoolers are then vacuum-brazed together, forming a single-piece core. The resulting structure is tremendously strong due to the reinforcement provided by external and internal fins. After the charge air coolers are assembled and brazed, the end tanks (or manifolds) are welded onto the core. These replacements are available for a wide range of diesel applications from 1990 and up.
