LS Classic Series classic intake manifold kits are designed to pay respect to the classic muscle cars and trucks of the 1950's, 60's, and 70's while using modern technology for ultimate performance. The intake kits include a single-plane aluminum intake manifold, black anodized billet aluminum fuel rails, a vintage air cleaner assembly, 4150 carb adapter plate, all mounting hardware, and gaskets. These systems require a 92mm GM 4-bolt throttle body and LS3/EV6 or LS1/EV1 fuel injectors. They are compatible with GM and aftermarket engine control units and harnesses that support both drive-by-wire and speed density tuning. It's time to choose the centerpiece of your boosted engine build. Second to only the supercharger or turbocharger, the intake manifold will be the focal point of your build illustrating the power and strength of what's underneath. Billet aluminum is the usual choice, but is there something better? Absolutely! Performance Design's Carbon TRc (Tunnel Ram compact) intake manifolds offer you a more distinct, ultra-modern, elegant, and lighter manifold at a lesser cost. An evolution of their Carbon TR naturally aspirated and Carbon TRic (intercooled) boosted intake manifolds, they are the next generation of underhood, short runner models optimized for boost, but do not rule them out of a naturally aspirated application where fitment and aesthetics are preferred over peak torque. They maintain the carbon fiber and billet aluminum construction, manufacturability within a desired price target, fitment under the stock hood, and versatility of subcomponents to be used across a wide range of applications. The modular design of the Carbon TRc intake manifolds start with a carbon fiber one-piece molded plenum. Carbon fiber braided sleeve layers with alternating weave directions are wrapped around a bladder, inserted into a billet aluminum mold, pressed against additional hand-laid carbon fiber fabric, and infused with resin. Vacuum, pressure, and heat are applied creating a plenum that is a strong pressure vessel without seams or bonding capable of handling over 50 psi of boost. Runners are CNC-machined, 6061 T-6 aluminum manufactured in two pieces to sandwich the plenum. A short velocity stack plate is installed inside the plenum and the outer runner bank bolts through the carbon fiber plenum into the velocity stack plate and is sealed with O-rings. A billet aluminum throttle body flange is bonded to the front of the carbon fiber plenum with aircraft-grade adhesive. Billet aluminum fuel rails are also available for port fuel applications or to add port fuel to direct-injected applications.
