You don't have to suffer constant carburetor issues in your hot rod or race car anymore. K&N Electronic Carburetor Injection (ECI) are self-tuning bolt-on systems that add a supplemental fuel source to optimize engine performance. And, since they are supplemental systems, you can tap into your current fuel supply and there is no need to run a return line back to your fuel tank. Users have the option to set detailed parameters, including their desired air-to-fuel ratio, injector pulse width, shot volume, progressive injector firing, and minimum/maximum rpm range. The brain of K&N's ECI systems is the ECU, which vigilantly monitors the input from the oxygen sensor to ensure an optimal air-to-fuel ratio is maintained. If the system detects an AFR higher than the user-defined limit, the injector will fire. Unlike a typical electronic fuel injection system, the ECI works cooperatively with your existing carburetor, supporting the fuel flow rates that high-horsepower vehicles require to operate efficiently. If your engine is performing lean, K&N's ECI systems will help make up for the fuel deficit. The major advantage of AFIS FRT fuel injectors is their reaction time. Their superiority lies in the introduction of a new electronic solenoid within the injector body that controls the pintle. The diminutive pintle receives its signal from the ECU and—by opening and closing the FRT injectors faster—delivers a crisper, more precise, and better atomized charge of fuel. These injectors operate with either aftermarket or OEM electronic control units. AFIS FRT fuel injectors rated at 48 lbs. and up are flow-matched to plus or minus 1 percent for accuracy.
