Stillen offers a wide range of performance parts, including the Trupower air intake scoops for a variety of vehicle makes and models. The factory air intake system on various Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra vehicles is a very unique and creative design. There is no natural path for the air to flow through. The air must travel up the face of the radiator in order to make its way into the air intake opening. Keep in mind the radiators operational temperature is 180-220 degrees—significantly higher than ambient. To solve the issues with this otherwise, fantastic design the team at Stillen created a proper scoop—the Trupower, which lowers the base of the radiator shroud to be in line with the top bar of the vehicle's grille. This design allows for air to come directly into the intake system without being warmed by the radiator or disrupted by lattice type material in the radiator shroud, which eliminates the pre-heating and turbulence caused by the factory system. Hybrid Racing offers cold air intake systems for a variety of applications, including select Honda© and Acura© models. Designing an intake system with a set of guidelines isn't hard to achieve. However, building an intake system that not only fits every engine combination while allowing that setup to produce more power is. Hybrid chose to narrow that field and focus on the best recipe for power gains. Combined with its high-flow velocity air filter, these cold air intake systems have shown gains of up to 10 percent (5-10 hp) across the powerband compared to a short ram system, while significantly reducing intake air temperatures. Don't want to relocate your battery? No problem. The Hybrid Racing RSX intake allows for the battery to stay in the OEM location. These intakes require a 70mm or larger throttle body and the RBC/RRC style intake manifolds. Fitment or compatibility with an OEM PRB intake is not guaranteed. Slight trimming of the LH inner fender lining is required, and the removal or relocation of the OEM windshield washer bottle is needed. Alterations to cars running OEM Type R brake cooling ducts may be necessary. The included radiator hose fits the K20A/A2/A3/Z1 water neck. It may not fit the K20Z3/K24 water neck.
