APR DTR8868 turbocharger systems are direct replacements for the EA839 3.0L turbo engine. These upgrades include matching software for various vehicles and mods, providing up to 620 hp (571 AWHP) and 422 lbs.-ft. of torque (572 AWT), depending on vehicle platform and fueling, all while keeping emissions components unmodified. The software supports premium pump fuel grades, race fuel grades, and even ethanol on the S4, S5, and SQ5 platforms with fueling upgrades. For dedicated race cars, the turbocharger is designed with plenty of headroom to go even further on your own. The APR Stage 3 software is designed to avoid hard-spiking in the lower RPM band or running on the edge of what the factory rods and pistons should handle. Particular attention was paid toward component protections for exhaust gas temperature (EGT), back pressure safety (EMAP), turbocharger discharge temperatures, and fueling system capabilities. As rising exhaust gas temperatures require more fuel, the system will lower lambda to cool EGT without taxing the injection system with excessive on-times. Secondary protections will limit output for safety. The HPFP software helps increase headroom without over-driving the pressure to the injection system. The need for limiting power under extreme prolonged use (like tracking the vehicle), is greatly reduced, and the optional upgraded HPFP dramatically increases ethanol output. Note: Specific software is required to use this system, and an upgrade from lower stage systems is included for various vehicles. Software compatibility must be checked before purchase as the software installs to your vehicle's factory ECU. Currently, software can only be installed by an authorized APR dealer. You'd be crazy to throw water into a gas tank and expect to get anywhere—but power and torque can be increased if you inject it into the incoming air charge with Nitrous Express water/methanol injection systems. Cooling the air charge allows for increased timing and the resulting performance benefits. These versatile units have a wide-open throttle switch for naturally aspirated vehicles and an adjustable boost-activated switch for forced induction models. Nitrous Express systems inject a fixed amount of fluid when the WOT switch or boost is activated—and continues until the switch opens again. They reduce intake temperatures and the need for timing retard when used with nitrous. It's time to choose the centerpiece of your boosted engine build. Second to only the supercharger or turbocharger, the intake manifold will be the focal point of your build illustrating the power and strength of what's underneath. Billet aluminum is the usual choice, but is there something better? Absolutely! Performance Design's Carbon TRc (Tunnel Ram compact) intake manifolds offer you a more distinct, ultra-modern, elegant, and lighter manifold at a lesser cost. An evolution of their Carbon TR naturally aspirated and Carbon TRic (intercooled) boosted intake manifolds, they are the next generation of underhood, short runner models optimized for boost, but do not rule them out of a naturally aspirated application where fitment and aesthetics are preferred over peak torque. They maintain the carbon fiber and billet aluminum construction, manufacturability within a desired price target, fitment under the stock hood, and versatility of subcomponents to be used across a wide range of applications. The modular design of the Carbon TRc intake manifolds start with a carbon fiber one-piece molded plenum. Carbon fiber braided sleeve layers with alternating weave directions are wrapped around a bladder, inserted into a billet aluminum mold, pressed against additional hand-laid carbon fiber fabric, and infused with resin. Vacuum, pressure, and heat are applied creating a plenum that is a strong pressure vessel without seams or bonding capable of handling over 50 psi of boost. Runners are CNC-machined, 6061 T-6 aluminum manufactured in two pieces to sandwich the plenum. A short velocity stack plate is installed inside the plenum and the outer runner bank bolts through the carbon fiber plenum into the velocity stack plate and is sealed with O-rings. A billet aluminum throttle body flange is bonded to the front of the carbon fiber plenum with aircraft-grade adhesive. Billet aluminum fuel rails are also available for port fuel applications or to add port fuel to direct-injected applications.
