Racing Fuel Cells for Race Cars and Hot Rods


Racing fuel cells provide many performance and safety advantages over factory original gas tanks for several racing and performance applications. The material strength and inner design of automotive racing fuel cells helps to protect drivers in crashes by preventing fuel spillage. Additionally, racing fuel cells for cars and trucks are designed to optimize fuel delivery in competitive racing and extreme off-road conditions.

High-strength plastic racing fuel cells, or steel racing fuel cells with internal bladders are available in several shapes and sizes—from 5 gallons to 32 gallons, and everything in between—for installation flexibility, as well as maximizing race track performance. Racing Fuel Cell vs. Gas Tank


The primary difference between a racing fuel cell and a factory-type aluminum fuel tank is the burst strength. Racing fuel cells are designed primarily for racing and have very high burst strength to prevent race gas from spilling out during a wreck or rollover. Factory fuel tanks—steel or plastic—aren’t built to withstand that level of abuse. Racing fuel cells also have a non-vented cap, as well as a rollover valve (or tip valve) within the vent line that keeps fuel from spilling during an accident.
