Our system replaces Ford's sump-mounted oil pump with a high-capacity gerotor pump positioned behind the timing cover, gaining crucial crossmember and ground clearance. To ensure reliability, they incorporated a proven pump design utilizing Melling sourced components that mimics the factory pressure level. Unlike most pumps that require removing the oil pan to change the pressure spring, Holley introduced a first-of-its-kind external access port, allowing hassle-free spring switching. Moreover, their cast aluminum oil pan features a performance-minded windage tray and baffle, guaranteeing proper oil pickup during high-G maneuvers. For extreme situations, such as drag racing, upgrade to the optional race baffle to always ensure proper oil delivery. Scat engine rotating assemblies are available with either a high-quality Scat forged 4340 crankshaft or Scat's Series 9000 cast crankshaft, plus I-beam or H-beam connecting rods with 7/16 in. or 3/8 in. cap screw bolts. For maximum power and reliability, Scat adds rod and main bearings from King, Federal Mogul, or Clevite 77, depending upon the application—and pistons and piston rings made by such well-known manufacturers as SRP/JE, Ross, KB, Mahle, Diamond, and Probe. Kits with cast and standard forged pistons have standard rings; kits with premium forged pistons have file-fit rings.
