Vortech's tuner centrifugal supercharger kits feature lightweight, investment-cast aluminum impellers that are heat-treated, CNC-machined, and high-speed balanced to ensure smooth operation. The gear cases and volutes are cast from premium A356 aluminum alloy, heat-treated, and then CNC-machined. Kits are available in both satin and polished finishes and come with a step-by-step, fully illustrated installation manual. Tuner kits do not include fuel and engine management hardware to allow for custom tuning. These kits do require custom (dyno) tuning by a specialist. Tuner kits are not smog legal. Vortech Maxflow Aftercooler systems are the aftermarket's first street/strip, air-to-water charge cooler systems. They utilize closed-loop water circulation and a front-mounted heat exchanger that allows for effective street operation. The systems provide cooler, denser air charges (discharge temperature decrease is approximately 100 degrees F at 10 PSIG), allowing more timing with less fuel required. Each system features Vortech's exclusive dual pass, high-flow, air-to-water-to-air cooler unit. Now you don't have to run a cumbersome roots-style supercharger on your vintage muscle. Vortech's carbureted centrifugal supercharger kits are designed to bring the performance and compact fit associated with late model fuel injected kits to vehicles equipped with carbureted engines. In most cases, these kits will fit under your stock hood without modifications. The heart of each kit is either a gear-driven V-1 S-Trim head unit or a gear-driven V-7 YSi-Trim head unit, unless otherwise noted. The cast aluminum carburetor enclosure assembly pressurizes the float bowls and throttle shafts for seamless response, and is designed for use with Holley 4150 or Demon 750 MD carburetors. The enclosure features front and rear -8 AN fuel inlet ports as well as provisions for pressure and vacuum connections. Linkage arms, a splined shaft, left/right hand spherical rod ends, and carburetor studs are included for simple throttle connection and adjustment. The included oil feed and oil drain assemblies deliver the best possible lubrication and cooling for the supercharger. They also feature a 6061-T6 billet aluminum supercharger crank pulley, pulley spacer, and an automatic belt tensioner.
