The 12 V model charges at 14.4 V DC and 1.8 amps, while the 16 V model charges at 18.5 V DC and 1.8 amps. Then, the TurboStart SMARTCharger battery chargers translate into float mode and regulate voltage at a lower level. They will keep batteries charged to the proper level and will not overcharge.
