Trick Flow® LS Series Retrofit Trunnion Kits
The OE rocker arm bearing design is a proven weak link in high-performance LS engines because the bearings are unable to cope with high lift cams, higher valve spring pressures, and sustained high-RPM use. Plus, the uncaptured design allows the needle rollers to be ejected into the crankcase, potentially causing catastrophic engine damage. One way to fix these issues is with a full set of high-quality roller rocker arms. However, many builders prefer the lower cost and lightweight durability of stock rocker bodies. That's where Trick Flow's far less costly solution comes in. The Trick Flow® rocker arm trunnion upgrade kit includes 16 CNC-machined trunnions that are heat-treated and precision ground to tighter tolerances for reduced wear and significantly improved rocker arm control. Precision needle roller bearings withstand high performance cams, valve springs, and repeated high-RPM blasts. They are held captive by extra wide circlips to prevent the bearing walk-out problem of the OE design. The Trick Flow® trunnion installation kit takes all the hassle out of removing old trunnions and installing new ones, with easy installation using just a bench vise instead of a cumbersome hydraulic press like other kits. That makes them the ideal choice for engines using superchargers, turbochargers, or nitrous. GenX 255 HD cylinder heads have fully CNC-profiled combustion chambers and CNC Competition Ported square port runners with a premium high resolution surface finish that guarantees dimensional accuracy and balanced flow from port-to-port for maximum power potential. The valve angles have been modified from the stock 15° to 12° to increase piston-to-valve clearance and allow the use of larger camshafts. The coolant holes through the head decks were designed to ensure compatibility with all LS head gasket and engine block combinations. The 6-bolt-per-cylinder mounting pattern for GMPP LSX and other aftermarket blocks increases clamping force to prevent head gasket failure, cylinder distortion, and other issues that plague the factory 4-bolt design.
