Trail-Gear tie rod tubes are made from heavy-duty 1.25 in. x .250 in. wall DOM tubing that is precision tapped and powdercoated. Each of these TG rods are test fitted to ensure rod ends thread-in with the correct fit. Trail-Gear tie rod tubes are available in three lengths.

These tie rods are designed to connect the steering rack to the steering knuckle of your vehicle's wheel, transmitting the force from the rack to the steering arm. The rods are machined from 1.25 in. x .250 in. wall DOM steel tubing with a black powdercoat finish. All rods are precision-tapped with both left- and right-hand M23-1.5 threads for FJ80 tie rod ends. Years after releasing their successful Rock Assault 9 axle housing, Trail-Gear decided to add a Toyota 8 in. version to the Rock Assault lineup. This housing is built to the same specifications as the Rock Assault 9 axles; however, they're built to accept the popular Toyota 8 in. differential. These housings have been tested in W.E. Rock, CalRocs, and King of the Hammers—so you know they'll stand up to the toughest terrain on earth. Trail-Gear started with a 1/4 in. thick formed shell for the center section made from A36 steel. This is a high-strength, low alloy, structural steel plate with a minimum yield strength of 36,000 psi. All of this is attached to an equally strong 1/2 in. thick faceplate for anchoring the DOM axle tubes. The axle tubes are secured by the industry's first 3-Point Attachment System, giving the tubes superior support and engagement into the center section. Trail-Gear also faces the center section to ensure your differential mounts flush against the axle housing to prevent any leaks. Rock Assault Fabricated 8 Housings are offered with 3.5 in. O.D. axle tubes with your choice of 1/4 in. or 3/8 in. wall thickness. NOTE: The housing is shipped with no ends. Housing ends must be sourced and installed to complete axle. Portal style ends are commonly used for this application.

Lift kits and taller tires are a necessity when navigating serious off-road trails. Whether you need to make adjustments to pinion angles or tire fitment in the fender wells, Trail-Gear leaf spring perches have you covered. These 1/4 in. steel perches feature the standard center hole, with additional holes drilled 1 in. in front and behind the center to avoid crunching fender well sheet metal. When running longer rear springs for greater flex, you may need to move the axle forward—while larger tires with stock length springs sometimes hit the front, requiring the axle to be moved back. If you're adding a larger lift, it's advised to change the angle of the perches in order to set proper pinion angles. Properly mounted lift kits and taller tires can greatly improve your vehicle's off-road capabilities, but steep driveline angles and tires hitting the edges of fender wells will bring nothing but trouble.
