Trail-Gear Rear Axle Bearing Pockets
Trail-Gear rear axle bearing pockets are designed to fit most Toyota pickup and 4Runners' axles. They are made of 4340 chromoly and allow you to use rear Toyota or Samurai Rock Assault axle housings with an aftermarket disc brake kit. No other aftermarket parts or kits are required. No longer do you have to worry about finding a spare set of bearing pockets from another rear axle. Now, you can build a completely new axle with no used parts with these Trail-Gear rear axle bearing pockets!

Trail-Gear Axle Housing End Flanges
Known for their strength, light weight, and simplicity, Toyota axles are the perfect fit for many custom off-road projects. Factory Toyota axle housings are available in a narrow range of widths which may not fit your crawler well. Trail-Gear fabricated axle housings allow you to use Toyota axles in nearly any width—from the narrowest of moon buggies to full-size trucks. These end flanges can be welded to the bare tubes of Trail-Gear's 8 in., 8 in. E-locker, and 8.4 in. fabricated axle housings. Flanges are designed to work with 1979-95 Toyota pickups or 2005-15 Toyota Tacoma rear axle housing components. They're available to fit 3.5 in. O.D. tubing with either a 1/4 in. or 3/8 in. wall thickness. Sold in a set of (2) flanges.

Better trail performance comes in the shape of fabricated, thick steel center sections and differential mounting surfaces, heavy-duty DOM axle tubes, and 4130 chromoly flanges. Plus, Trail-Gear engages the tubes further into the center section, with a 360 degree gusset welded around the tubes on the inside of the housing, to ensure that your rig is strong enough to go wherever you want! Rock Assault's overall design also offers additional clearance under the axle tubing and differential, providing more height to climb over those big boulders. Trail-Gear Disc Brake Kits
Trail-Gear disc brake kits are strong and easy to install. They started with 3/8 in. CNC laser-cut caliper brackets with Grade 10.9 bolts. The kits utilize larger GM-style calipers that are shipped fully loaded and custom-made, GM-style vented rotors. DOT-approved brake lines are included and designed so that no new fittings are required--one end fits the calipers, and the other end attaches to your OEM brake lines. Trail-Gear Rock Assault Custom Axle Housings
Years after releasing their successful Rock Assault 9 axle housing, Trail-Gear decided to add a Toyota 8 in. version to the Rock Assault lineup. This housing is built to the same specifications as the Rock Assault 9 axles; however, they're built to accept the popular Toyota 8 in. differential. These housings have been tested in W.E. Rock, CalRocs, and King of the Hammers—so you know they'll stand up to the toughest terrain on earth. Trail-Gear started with a 1/4 in. thick formed shell for the center section made from A36 steel. This is a high-strength, low alloy, structural steel plate with a minimum yield strength of 36,000 psi. All of this is attached to an equally strong 1/2 in. thick faceplate for anchoring the DOM axle tubes. The axle tubes are secured by the industry's first 3-Point Attachment System, giving the tubes superior support and engagement into the center section. Trail-Gear also faces the center section to ensure your differential mounts flush against the axle housing to prevent any leaks. Rock Assault Fabricated 8 Housings are offered with 3.5 in. O.D. axle tubes with your choice of 1/4 in. or 3/8 in. wall thickness. NOTE: The housing is shipped with no ends. Housing ends must be sourced and installed to complete axle. Portal style ends are commonly used for this application.

Trail-Gear Rock Assault 6-Ply Limiting Straps
You're not going to believe how beefy these things are! Trail Gear Rock Assault 6-ply limit straps are the industry's first 6 layer, 1 3/4 in. nylon webbing limit straps. These straps are rated at 9000 lbs. breaking strength with zero stretch. The 4130 heat-treated chromoly steel clevis buckles that have been zinc-plated for corrosion resistance and have 1/2 in. mounting holes. Even on the most extreme terrain these will prevent possible breakage of the shocks. Anti-abrasion clips have been installed in each buckle to minimize wear. Strap lengths are measured from the center of the mounting holes and are guaranteed accurate to +/- 1/4 in. When ordering, choose a limit strap that is 1 in. shorter than the shock to prevent full extension and possible breakage of shock. Go with Trail-Gear 6-ply to get an accurate strap without stretch!
