The addition of two studs in each arm effectively prevents the steering arm from becoming loose or shearing off the studs under extreme loads. Many off-road enthusiasts buy Trail-Gear Creepy Twin transfer case shifters in order to drive in 2WD low—not realizing how much easier the twin sticks make it to shift in and out of 4-low.
