TCI Super StreetFighter Transmissions
TCI Super StreetFighter transmissions bridge the gap between the StreetFighters and full Competition series transmissions. Like the StreetFighter units, these are equipped with 100 percent tested, manual/automatic valve bodies. That means that most units allow you to manually shift the vehicle into each gear change or, by placing it in the drive position, remain fully automatic. In either mode, you get a racetrack shift that bangs through the gears and shaves time off your ETs. When you use the manual gear selection feature, the Super StreetFighters upshift and downshift right when you move the lever, with no lag or governor override. These TCI PRO-X TH400 aluminum tailhousings feature light weight and improved strength, while using a tailshaft roller bearing rather than the factory bushing for superior lubrication and durability. The OEM bushing is a common failure point with TH400 transmissions, as it can run dry in high-speed TH400 applications. The TCI PRO-X TH400 aluminum tailhousings are more rigid than other factory or aftermarket tailhousings, with increased structure for added support and durability. The use of the roller bearing provides added lubrication, and the usually unreliable paper gasket used to seal the housing to the transmission is replaced with a precision-machined surface that incorporates an O-ring for a solid, drip-free connection.
