For classic vehicle owners who like their stock 6-cylinder, but want to upgrade to a 12 V alternator for improved battery charging and reliability, we have some helpful solutions. Our Summit Racing™ generator-to-alternator conversion brackets will get you started on your way to a more robust charging system. Without changing the stock mounting location or interference with other components, these 2-piece bracket kits simply replace the existing generator brackets, allowing you to securely mount your alternator. These sturdy steel brackets are designed and precision cut to fit both externally and internally regulated GM alternators. Select the correct Summit Racing™ generator-to-alternator conversion brackets designed for your classic vehicle. Bracket kit notes: * 2-piece kits * No hardware included * No changes to the stock mounting location--factory generator brackets are simply removed, and our alternator brackets replace them * Brackets will not work with the later mini-type alternators, like the CS. * Factory original 6-cylinder motors only--totally stock with generators * Since the vehicles of this time were never wired for alternators, you'll need to do some wiring. Summit Racing™ battery Pro Packs combo an Optima RedTop battery, Painless battery cable kit, and a tray/hold-down kit for a complete install in your vehicle. The high performance AGM RedTop is Optima's ultimate starting battery designed to deliver a strong burst of ignition power for a reliable start-up every time. The batteries offer longer life, more vibration resistance, no maintenance, and are virtually spill proof and mountable in most any position. Painless Performance battery cable kits include a red 1-gauge positive and a black 1-gauge negative cable with lightweight abrasion-resistant insulation capable of handling over 250 amps and heavy-duty terminals already installed, side post adapters, and high-amp crimp ring terminals. Summit Racing™ Exhaust Gasket and Bolts Pro Packs
We have put together these Summit Racing™ exhaust gasket and bolts Pro Packs to ensure a leakproof seal for your headers. They feature Fel-Pro Performance exhaust header gaskets made from high-temperature, high-density fiber material around a perforated steel core for durability and heat resistance. To provide a tight seal, we include Stage 8's Grade 8 locking header bolts. They use a patented system that consists of a grooved hex head bolt, a retainer, and a snap clip. The retainer fits over the bolt head and locks the bolt against the header tube, and the snap clip holds the retainer in place. Use one of these Summit Racing™ exhaust gasket and bolts Pro Packs to eliminate blown header gaskets from loose bolts.
