Summit Racing™ Forged Pro Pistons brings modern engine piston technology to older engine platforms at the great value. Why use an antiquated piston designed fifty years ago in your new build? A great piston starts with a great forging. Forged Pro piston forgings are stronger AND lighter. This makes more power AND takes stress off the crank, rods and block at higher rpm. It also saves money balancing a crank when heavy metal is not required. Forged Pro pistons are designed around ultra-modern Nitride Steel top ring packs and Summit GP Gas Ported variants. You may have heard of gas ported pistons in high-end racing engines. Summit Racing™ Pro GPX gas ported rings add this performance to ANY non-gas ported (or even gas-ported) piston. They are also a great way to juice up cast and hypereutectic pistons for little extra money. How do they work? With a series of perfectly oriented slots on the top side of the top piston compression ring, the combustion pressure reaches the inside the ring groove and fully activates the ring sooner and longer for better seal. This not only makes more horsepower; it dramatically reduces blow-by and reduces or even eliminates the need for a catch can. Other benefits? Summit Racing™ Digital RTR Plus Billet Distributors

We've taken our original Ready-to-Run billet distributors and upped the ante with our Summit Racing™ Digital RTR (Ready-to-Run) Plus billet distributors. They now feature a digital module with a 7.5 amp rated dwell control circuit for maximum energy output. They deliver 400 volts and 125mJ of spark energy to the coil and upwards of 50,000 volts from the coil to the spark plugs. We've also added a single-stage rev limiter with a simple "tap to ground" process of the tachometer lead attached to the module to set the limiter. The tachometer dual purpose lead also produces a 25 percent duty cycle, square wave signal, so it can be used with multifunction tachometers and most popular aftermarket EFI systems. Another bonus feature of our digital technology is a fully automatic start retard. This built-in feature provides 4 degrees of timing retard during cranking and is fully dialed out by 300 rpm. This gives you easier and quicker hot restarts while lowering the initial start load on the starter and electrical system. With all these upgraded features, you're assured of peak output throughout all RPM ranges, quicker hot starts, EFI capability and the reliability of digital technology. The distributors still have the same lightweight, forged, precision CNC-machined aluminum housing for strength and stability; polished steel shafts with sealed ball bearings for stable operation through 10,000 rpm; and a maintenance-free, high-output magnetic trigger for accurate and reliable performance. All distributors come with a high-quality, 30 percent glass-filled PBT cap and rotor with brass terminals and contacts. An ignition box is not required for use with Summit Racing™ Digital RTR Plus billet distributors except when used with an aftermarket EFI system. Select the model recommended for your car, truck, or van. These Ready-to-Run distributors must use a coil with .5 to .7 Ohms primary resistance and 5 to 7 mH primary inductance.
