The bypass allows a portion of the fuel to run through the sensor to measure the ethanol content for your ECM. Summit Racing™ 12 V electric vacuum pumps utilize a rotary vane style pump with an enlarged diaphragm to ensure maximum suction while remaining nearly dead-quiet and vibration-free. Utilizing a Manifold Absolute Vacuum/Pressure (MAVP) sensor eliminates the need for old-school vacuum switches and relays. This configuration also guarantees an incredibly quick vacuum recovery time, ensuring 17 in. to 23 in. Hg vacuum all the time. The pumps come in four standard configurations: Bare (no outer shell), Black, Chrome, or Gunmetal Gray ABS plastic outer shell.
