Sangean CL-100 Weather Alert Radios receive all seven VHF NOAA weather channels and alert you to any hazardous weather conditions. These new tabletop Specific Area Message Encoding (S.A.M.E.) Weather Alert Radios are loaded with all of the key messaging features. They also include the AM and FM broadcast bands--with FM RBDS. The CL-100s are also Public Alert Certified weather radios that receive all current NOAA report formats. Finding S.A.M.E. county codes on NOAA's website is easy! Simply program them into your radio and store up to 25 counties. They'll give you more time to react before dangerous storms hit your area. When you're in a tornado's path, mere seconds can mean the difference between safety and peril. The CL-100s have a display module with an excellent LCD and a wide viewing angle and you can scroll S.A.M.E. data to provide visual hazardous-event information. You may also retain the latest 20 event messages in memory to track weather trends. Sangean CL-100s feature up to five station-presets each for the FM and AM bands and have an auto-station-search function. They scan all available radio frequencies and find the strongest AM/FM signals. These radios have FM RBDS capabilities, in which a digital signal on an FM station is decoded by an RBDS-capable receiver, and can provide a wide range of informational data. These radios make the perfect bedside alarm clock. You may set the sleep timer to 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 minutes and doze off to soft music. You may also set the dual alarm timers and wake to the AM or FM radio or buzzer alarms. There's even a snooze button. You may choose to set the date, day and time manually--or automatically by RBDS. Additionally, CL-100s have variable dimmer and contrast controls for comfortably viewing the display in the dark. A 3.5mm stereo auxiliary input jack is provided on CL-100s to allow audio signals to be fed into the unit from an external audio device, such as an MP3 or CD player. The WR-2s have some nice, advanced features. You may control these radios with their included IR remote control. They will display Radio Broadcast Data System (RBDS) text messages from any RBDS-encoding FM station. Their RBDS clock-set function will acquire the time from the RBDS signal and load it into your radio for you... automatically! Their clock may be set to display 12 or 24-hour time. The LCD backlight has three different levels of brightness or may be turned off.
