These small, cylindrical components fit inside a housing on a gear cover, designed to support and reduce friction on the rotating pinion shaft within a gear assembly. Essentially, they act as a bearing to allow the pinion shaft to turn smoothly within the gear cover while minimizing wear and tear on the surrounding parts. These small cylindrical components sit within the camshaft gear cover on an engine, providing a smooth, low-friction surface for the camshaft to rotate against. They essentially act as a wear-resistant guide and support for the camshaft where it exits the engine block and connects to the timing gear.
