While the original twin I-beam front suspension was built "Ford tough" it wasn't exactly built to carve corners. RideTech 1970-81 GM F-body air suspension systems provide that ultra-low show stance, and they include several components that will vastly improve the suspension geometry to give your old muscle car modern drivability. The innovative "unicradle" bolt-on 4-link improves traction, handling, and ride quality with minimal cutting and almost no welding required. Its unique design addresses common second-generation F-body production variations and frame rail thickness issues. Lateral tubes index off leaf spring mounting points (rather than frame rails). A separate steel brace bolts to the inside of the rear bulkhead area (in the cockpit) behind the seat to locate the forward mounting points of the upper link bars. The R-joint rod ends in these systems combine the best qualities of low friction movement, lateral stability, full range articulation, and quiet operation into one special bearing.
