By loosening the small bolt holding the collar, you can turn it with the wrench; no need to unbolt the top of the shock. Correct adjustment of the coil spring preload is a critical step toward improved suspension and handling. RideTech machined spanner wrenches can be used manually or as an attachment on your 3/8 in. ratchet.
