RAM Billet Steel Flywheels
Cast flywheels are not explosion-proof and can be dangerous when used in high performance applications at higher rpm. RAM billet steel flywheels are recommended as replacements for factory-cast flywheels in high performance and racing vehicles. Made in America and produced in-house, all RAM flywheels are computer balanced within a 1/2 oz., surface ground (which results an optimum mating surface), and are ready to run out of the box. They're better for launching heavier drag race cars and provide better drivability in street vehicles. SFI-approved, RAM billet steel flywheels are CNC-machined from certified materials. Order the model recommended for your year/make and engine application. Technical note: As they spin, heavy flywheels store more energy than lighter ones. Engine and gearing combinations that require more power or inertia to make the car launch without bogging the motor need heavier flywheels. However, heavier flywheels accelerate slower. Lighter flywheels create less inertia at launch, but accelerate quicker through the gears. When choosing a flywheel, you must consider the car's weight, operating rpm of the engine, and, most importantly, the gearing. Insufficient gearing will cause an engine with too light of a flywheel to "bog" on launch.

RAM Billet Aluminum Flywheels
If you're building an all-out competition car, then you need a lightweight flywheel that will allow the engine to rev quicker and not eat up a lot of power. RAM billet aluminum flywheels greatly reduce rotating weight to permit quicker revving and higher power output, but still retain enough mass to resist heat distortion that could adversely affect clutch performance. RAM billet aluminum flywheels are made in America and produced in house. All RAM flywheels are computer-balanced within a 1/2 oz., surface ground (which results an optimum mating surface), and are ready to run out of the box. SFI-approved, these flywheels are CNC-machined from certified materials and have rugged steel friction-surface inserts. RAM Clutch Billet Steel Alignment Tools
RAM billet steel alignment tools are precision-machined for perfect alignment of clutch discs. These specialty tools feature an open backside that allows the clutch pack to be progressively loaded without having to juggle all of the parts when performing the clutch install. Tool models are available to service a variety of pilot and shaft diameters, as well as input spline quantities. This is a must for installing any dual disc clutch unit.

RAM Force 10.5 dual disc clutch kits have a strap-driven floater plate and are precision-balanced for quiet operation. The sprung hub top disc absorbs shock and reduces driveline noise. Force clutches are available with your choice of a 300 Series friction disc or a 900 Series disc. The 300 Series organic disc models are capable of handling 500 to 800 hp; while the 900 Series metallic models can handle between 600 and 1,200 hp. These kits use a marcel spring—a thin, wavy device that helps to eliminate the go-or-no-go tendency that similar dual disc clutches have. RAM Stock Rule Clutch Systems
RAM clutches for 'stock clutch rule' classes give you unmatched performance and durability. The 10.5 in. diameter assembly utilizes a billet aluminum pressure ring with a riveted steel heat shield that provides a durable mating surface for the clutch disc. A 3,000 lb. pressure spring provides increased static pressure over stock clutches. Used in conjunction with a RAM 6-paddle solid hub disc, this combination weighs in at just over 15 lbs. If your rules require a full facing or sprung hub disc, the RAM 300 Series organic racing disc provides the best holding power of any organic disc available and adds only about 2 lbs. to the total weight of the set. RAM offers a lightweight 17 lb. billet steel flywheel for Chevrolet that matches the above components. If you are required to use all-steel components, RAM offers a similar 10.5 in. pressure plate with a nodular iron pressure ring. This unit uses the same heavier pressure spring for increased holding power. All RAM street stock clutches are completely rebuildable.

RAM Truck Pulling Custom Order Clutch Kits
RAM truck pulling clutch kits are custom-assembled for your specific application. These units feature a heavy-gauge steel cover with welded spring guides and a steel pressure ring. Flywheels are available in 30 or 40 lb. weights, as well as in billet aluminum. The clutches can be set up with either 5135 or 5191 compound iron discs with 1 to 10 splines. Single disc slipper-style clutches can be used with engines producing up to 800 hp, or where very limited slipping is desired. These clutches utilize the same quality components as the RAM dual disc pulling clutches. These units can be assembled with your choice of sintered iron disc materials and flywheel weights. Dual disc clutches will allow a more controlled slip as the vehicle comes out, without severe wear or every-round maintenance. Dual disc clutches are built to fit different stock depths or deep bellhousings.
