RAM premium replacement clutch kits are the first choice of professional installers, because each set contains the correct replacement parts to ensure proper fit and operation in your vehicle. Kits include an OEM diaphragm or lever style pressure plate, clutch disc, and a clutch-alignment tool. Some clutch sets will include a throwout bearing. RAM hydraulic throwout bearing travel adjustment systems are designed for late model vehicles equipped with internal slave cylinder and bearings. Factory hydraulic systems do not allow for adjustment of the pedal position, often resulting in a high engagement point when using aftermarket clutches. The Ram system allows you to adjust your pedal position lower to the floor for better driver comfort, while allowing you to minimize the release of your clutch system for racing applications. Some vehicles experience shifting problems at higher RPM due to over centering, or over travel of the clutch fingers. By limiting this travel and setting the clutch pedal for minimum release this over travel situation can be eliminated, restoring clean shifts at high RPM.

Cast flywheels are not explosion-proof and can be dangerous when used in high performance applications at higher rpm. RAM billet steel flywheels are recommended as replacements for factory-cast flywheels in high performance and racing vehicles. Made in America and produced in-house, all RAM flywheels are computer balanced within a 1/2 oz., surface ground (which results an optimum mating surface), and are ready to run out of the box. They're better for launching heavier drag race cars and provide better drivability in street vehicles. SFI-approved, RAM billet steel flywheels are CNC-machined from certified materials. Order the model recommended for your year/make and engine application. Technical note: As they spin, heavy flywheels store more energy than lighter ones. Engine and gearing combinations that require more power or inertia to make the car launch without bogging the motor need heavier flywheels. However, heavier flywheels accelerate slower. Lighter flywheels create less inertia at launch, but accelerate quicker through the gears. When choosing a flywheel, you must consider the car's weight, operating rpm of the engine, and, most importantly, the gearing. Insufficient gearing will cause an engine with too light of a flywheel to "bog" on launch.

Each unit provides a combination of static and centrifugal pressure, and these characteristics enable the clutch to meet the car needs and track conditions.
