Monitoring and relaying the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) signals from each of your cylinders is done using components from three groups: the thermocouple which actually measures the exhaust temperature, the junction box which gathers the four thermocouple sensors on each cylinder bank into a group, and an EGT module that connects the two junction boxes to the Racepak sensor network. Racepak EGT components are built and designed specifically for all of those roles. Whether it is EGT probes, junction boxes and cables, or an EGT module you need, Racepak has the high-quality components you need.

Racepak's Vehicle Network (V-Net) is a "smart data" transfer network able to transmit multiple signals from sensors over a single cable. The V-Net system uses modular connectors that attach each of the devices to the main cable. For a function or component to be monitored on the V-Net, the signal from that device must pass through a sensor and its module (essentially a miniature computer) that identifies and retrieves the proper incoming signal and allows other signals to pass through. The sensor measures the input from the function or device (i.e. rpm, pressure, temperature, etc.), while the module converts the signal so it can be transmitted over the V-Net. These pressure or temperature module/sensor combinations are the same as Racepak analog pre-programmed V-Net modules with sensors except that they have NOT been pre-programmed. Racepak analog programmable V-Net modules with sensors must be programmed using the Configuration File in Datalink software (not included).

Racepak thermocouple connectors feature Type "K" calibration, are specifically made for Type K thermocouples, and are compatible with all fuels, naturally aspirated, and forced induction engines. Due to their reliability and accuracy, Type K thermocouples are used extensively in high performance and racing applications. Nickel based, they exhibit good corrosion resistance and function at temperatures up to 2,300 degrees F (1,260 degrees C). The connectors have small glass-filled thermoplastic yellow bodies and are rectangular in shape. Racepak thermocouple connectors are available in both male and female configurations. When you need to monitor the most critical systems on your vehicle, Racepak can help make it happen.

All Racepak V-Net systems must be equipped with a tee cable to install the two terminator caps (one male and one female) necessary for the operation of the system. Just like the ends on the V-Net cables, all V-Net tee cables and terminator caps are blue. Racepak interface modules can also use tee cables, but they are not required for the system to operate properly. Instead, they allow you to create a branch in the system. Black interface tee cables and dust caps are used for the purposes their names indicate. Racepak gauge tee cables are used to connect Intelli-Gauges to a V-Net cable. After the first gauge, each subsequent gauge is connected with a gauge-to-gauge jumper cable.
