Nitrous Outlet timing control launch delay controllers help deliver more consistent, repeatable starts for drag racing and other standing-start competition. Sometimes referred to as a 2-step or launch controller, this unit provides an adjustable RPM limiter to control launch rpm off the line, while also offering timing-delay capability for power-adder applications. In turbocharged combinations, these controllers can delay ignition timing to help build boost on the line. The timing-delay function can also be used independently or while launch control is active, making the unit a versatile tuning tool for turbocharged, supercharged, and nitrous-assisted vehicles. For nitrous applications, timing delay can be activated through a dedicated input, while boosted applications can use a 3-bar MAP sensor input to vary delay based on boost level. They also function as adjustable individual-cylinder rpm limiters, using spark cut rather than fuel cut. This fast-acting ignition-based control is especially useful on vehicles equipped with auxiliary fuel systems, where mismatched fuel shut off between the factory ECM/PCM and add-on controls can create a dangerous lean condition and increase the risk of engine damage.
