Their high-grade ductile iron is micro-polished for a smooth and scuff-free finish, and then Melonite QPC coated to reduce friction and initial wear. Excessive clearance causes timing fluctuation throughout the rpm range, resulting in lost horsepower, so MSD also designed these iron camshaft mounted distributor gears for tighter mesh to the distributor gear.

MSD Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run distributors are the perfect upgrade for weak OE electronic distributors, outdated points distributors, and large HEIs or DuraSparks. All that's required is to install the distributor in the engine, and connect three wires and the coil! A maintenance-free magnetic pickup accurately triggers this ignition with increased output from the amplifier, easily outperforming stock ignitions. It will smooth out the engine's idle, improve starting, and perform at a much higher rpm. The housing is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum, using state-of-the-art CNC mills and lathes for a unit with no porosity or weak areas. For stability and endurance, an oversized steel shaft spins in a top-mounted sealed ball bearing, while an extra-long sintered bushing guides the shaft at the base of the housing. This shaft also receives a QPQ coating for low friction wear and resistance against corrosion from humidity and ozone buildup. The distributors feature MSD's adjustable mechanical advance, which allows you to custom-tailor an ignition curve to match your engine's needs. For off-road, marine, racing, or other extreme environments, MSD Blaster high-vibration ignition coils are the best choice. Their sturdy metal housing is potted with a premium-grade epoxy to completely encase the coils' primary and secondary windings. This protects the coils from high and low frequency vibrations. Alkyd material is used to form the spark tower because of its high dielectric characteristics. MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor spark plug wire sets feature a special helically wound core that has just 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot—but with an RFI suppression equal to a 1,500 ohm wire. In fact, each foot of finished wire includes 40 ft. of tightly wound copper for superior conductivity. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective Electro Magnetic Interference "choke." This choke, or suppression capability, keeps the EMI inside the wire where it cannot interfere with other electronics on your vehicle. These MSD Atomic EFI fuel injection systems are the perfect choice for anyone planning on converting from carburetor to fuel injection. They include a throttle body, power module (with wideband oxygen sensor), and handheld controller. The throttle body features an integral ECU built on the side, incorporating the TPS, MAP, IAT, and fuel pressure sensors, all in one location. Fuel delivery is provided by four precision 80 psi injectors featuring a stainless steel ball and seat metering method for maximum internal sealing. They also use internal fuel rails, providing a sleek appearance and removing fitting connections where leaks can develop. Atop the Atomic EFIs are annular booster rings that deliver superior atomization of the best fuel mixture, ensuring the best possible fuel delivery. These coils utilize an iron U-Core design with a segmented bobbin for improved voltage distribution. The bobbin is molded from Dupont Rynite FR946 and wound specifically to create an effective coil with incredible voltage capabilities, lightning quick rise time, and lengthy spark duration. The housing, also molded from Rynite material, features far-spaced brass primary terminals and a well-protected secondary tower for increased spark isolation. MSD high-pressure, high-flow fuel pumps feature a roller vane pump mechanism, which is extremely resistant to clogging and jamming. With these in place, the unit will draw current through the noise filter instead of from the battery, so the unit will not affect any of your 12 V or 16 V accessories.
