MSD Pro Mag 44 electronic points boxes are responsible for controlling the Pro Mag 44's energy, such as the special long duration spark and quick rise time. They feature electronic circuitry that replaces the breaker points. This allows the power of the generator to be released to the coil instantly and at full power. The boxes keep the electricity flowing across the plug for a full 26 degrees of crankshaft rotation, ensuring complete combustion, and they are available with an optional rev limiter.

MSD Ignition 12 amp electronic points boxes control the spark duration and the unique full power firing sequence of several magneto units, including the Pro Mag 12, Pro Mag 12LT, and Pro Mag 20. The energy from the generator is controlled with Field Effect Transistor (FET) technology, which is far superior to mags still using points as a trigger source. FETs are considerably more accurate and durable—and are capable of handling much more current. This is why the Pro Mag can deliver full energy sparks throughout the entire rpm range of the engine, while conventional magnetos fall short of full power at high racing rpm. Plus, these advanced points boxes keep each spark glowing for up to 26 degrees of crankshaft rotation.

MSD three-stage retard controls allow you to retard your ignition timing in three different stages. You can activate one retard for a nitrous stage, and another at top-end in high gear for more mph, and still have another module left over for dual-stage nitrous systems. When activated together, the retard amounts are cumulative, so you get the total of the three. For example, if you pull 2 degrees, then 4 degrees on the second stage, and another 2 degrees at top-end, the total retard is 8 degrees (2+4+2=8). In addition to the individual retard stages, the Three Stage retard controls have an optional start retard function that retards the timing 10 or 25 degrees while cranking the engine. This makes starting high-compression engines with locked-out timing, such as crank trigger systems, much easier. These units easily connect to your MSD Ignition and can be triggered from points, electronic ignitions, crank triggers, or magnetic pickup distributors. They're supplied with a 2, 3, and 4 degree module, and must be used with an MSD 6, SCI, 7, 8, or 10 Series ignition.

MSD 6-BTM CD ignitions are ideal for engines with a turbo or supercharger. Not only will they benefit from full power CD sparks, but there is also an adjustable boost/timing retard circuit to prevent detonation. The dash-mounted control knob lets you easily adjust the amount of timing retard from 0-3 degrees per pound of boost pressure. Dial away engine-damaging detonation by retarding the timing in relation to boost pressure, and run on the threshold of detonation for maximum power and efficiency. These MSD 6TN and 6ALN ignitions are the ultimate choices for superior performance in harsh racing conditions. With sturdy vibration mounts and CD circuits encased in a clear 2-part silicone elastomer, they are virtually vibration-proof. A specially designed, weathertight, 6-pin connector meets NASCAR's 20-6.1 ignition wiring rule and provides a tight, positive-locking connection with individual seals to keep dirt and moisture from each connection. MSD Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run distributors are the perfect upgrade for weak OE electronic distributors, outdated points distributors, and large HEIs or DuraSparks. All that's required is to install the distributor in the engine, and connect three wires and the coil! A maintenance-free magnetic pickup accurately triggers this ignition with increased output from the amplifier, easily outperforming stock ignitions. It will smooth out the engine's idle, improve starting, and perform at a much higher rpm. The housing is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum, using state-of-the-art CNC mills and lathes for a unit with no porosity or weak areas. For stability and endurance, an oversized steel shaft spins in a top-mounted sealed ball bearing, while an extra-long sintered bushing guides the shaft at the base of the housing. This shaft also receives a QPQ coating for low friction wear and resistance against corrosion from humidity and ozone buildup. The distributors feature MSD's adjustable mechanical advance, which allows you to custom-tailor an ignition curve to match your engine's needs. MSD Atomic transmission control modules are designed to adjust the operating parameters of later model electronically controlled 4-speed automatic overdrive transmissions. They're simple to configure with the supplied hand-held monitor--no PC required. You now have access to adjust shift points, adjust torque converter clutch behavior, select different levels of shift firmness, select between auto-shift and manual shift mode, and activate dyno mode to deliver repeatable chassis dyno results. The included hand-held monitor connects to them and can be left in place as a dashboard to monitor the transmission in real time, or can be disconnected when the configuration is complete. Once installed, these modules need only a few basic parameters to complete the initial setup. First, select the type of transmission you are using--all supported transmission types are listed in the menu. Other required fields include the number of engine cylinders, rear-end gear ratio, and tire height. Once this has been completed, you can now start and drive the vehicle, while taking advantage of the advanced setup menu items to dial-in the transmission to your liking. You can feel the results in real-time as a passenger manipulates the parameters and monitors the real-time data. Data available for viewing includes engine speed, vehicle speed, throttle position, transmission fluid temperature, shifter position, and commanded gear. Best of all, the MSD Atomic transmission control modules are available as completely stand-alone units or Brainwave-compatible for the Atomic EFI systems. There are two ways to limit your rpms. The rough way simply cuts off ignition spark, which can cause backfiring, extreme engine roughness, and possible engine damage. The gentle way is with these MSD Soft Touch rev controllers. They use sophisticated computer circuitry to drop spark one cylinder at a time, until your engine is at or below its maximum rpm. Those cylinders are then fired on the next cycle, to prevent them from loading up with fuel. The result is smooth rev limiting action without all the rough stuff. There are two versions of the Soft Touch rev controllers--one for MSD's 6T, 6TN, 6HVC ignitions, and one for OEM electronic and points ignitions. Both come with 6,000, 7,000, and 8,000 rpm plug-in modules, and can be used with other modules or MSD's RPM module selector.
