MSD puts their years of experience to work in making these top-notch iron distributor gears. Their high grade, ductile iron is micro polished for a smooth and scuff-free finish then Melonite QPC coated to reduce friction and initial wear. Excessive clearance causes timing fluctuation throughout the rpm range, resulting in lost horsepower, so MSD also designed these oversized gears for tighter mesh between the camshaft and distributor drive gears.

MSD blank distributor caps are designed as replacements for MSD Pro-Billet dual sync EFI distributors using a direct ignition system kit. They can also be used on distributors equipped with two hall-effect sensors for crankshaft and camshaft signals processing sequential fueling and/or coil-on/near-plug (COP/CNP) applications. Simply remove the distributor cap and rotor for proper fitment. Order an MSD COP blank cap for dual sync distributors to keep your engine's spark plugs firing properly.

The GM LS Series engines are being built for a lot of different performance and racing applications. You can see good ol' hot rodder ingenuity taking place as racers are running carburetors and even using distributors on these engines! These MSD LSx trigger converters plug into the factory crank sensor of an LS engine. They then convert the factory trigger signal into a 12 V square wave signal to trigger an MSD ignition control such as a 6 or 7 Series ignition control. If you are incorporating a front mount distributor into your LS engine, this means that you won't need to run an external crank trigger.
