Mr. Gasket HEADLOCK locking header bolts simplify header installation with high-strength, 2-in-1 self-locking bolts that eliminate the need for lock washers. Designed for the performance engine builder, these innovative, patent-pending fasteners have 24 equally spaced serrations in the face of the hex head. The bolts grab and lock on to your manifold surface, virtually eliminating the chance that one might back out from vibration or because of the varying expansion rates of different metals. Mr. Gasket HEADLOCK locking header bolts are available for numerous domestic applications, including Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford, AMC, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac. These kits from Mr. Gasket are complete header gasket and fastener installation kits. Mr. Gasket was the first to incorporate slotted mounting bolt holes at the ends of each exhaust gasket. This allows the gasket to be installed without removing the header flange entirely from the cylinder head, making installation faster and easier. Premium Ultra-Seal exhaust and collector gaskets provide excellent heat resistance, and conform to and seal minor surface irregularities. Mr. Gasket header and collector bolts provide the proper clamp-load to seal flange mating surfaces. All gaskets and fasteners necessary for header installation are included.

Installing headers can sometimes be a real pain, due to the tight spaces and the location and shape of the tubes. Mr. Gasket can help make installation a little easier and also help prevent annoying exhaust leaks from under-tightened header bolts. They have both the socket-head and hex-head styles of header bolts available. Hex types are heat-treated Grade 5 steel and have smaller-than-standard heads to ease access in tight spaces. Socket-head bolts are made from stronger Grade 8 steel for added ruggedness and they're great for those really difficult-to-reach spots. Both styles have a protective black oxide finish.

Open up your exhaust with the flick of a lever. With Mr. Gasket's exhaust cutouts, you can manually control the flow of your vehicle's exhaust either through the stock exhaust system or straight out of the pipe. Made from durable cast iron, Mr. Gasket exhaust cutouts will accept 2 in. O.D. exhaust pipes. They can be used on other size tubing as well, with the use of adapters and/or reducers (not included). Each cutout includes a control cable for remote installation, and detailed instructions. Brazing is required.

It withstands up to 1,000 degrees F of radiant heat, which it reflects away, and 500 degrees F direct heat. Bolts can work just fine for header installations, but Mr. Gasket's header studs offer some distinct advantages. Most importantly, they help prevent stripped threads in aluminum heads. Beyond that, they also make lining up the headers for installation a lot easier. Some studs have special narrow tips to make that alignment task even easier, and some are made from Grade 8 steel for extra strength. The matching self-locking flange nuts are available in both hex-head and 12-point styles. For corrosion protection, the studs have a black oxide finish, while the nuts are brightly zinc plated.
