Max Papis Innovations D3 Steering Wheels

The D model is the first dirt steering wheel that Max Papis Innovations ever produced. It was developed with the help of Donny Schatz, the most successful dirt racer in history. The D3 is the evolution of the popular D2 models, representing the current pinnacle of the MPI dirt line of wheels. It was engineered using all the technology developed for the stock car models to create the most advanced, safest, and ergonomic dirt steering wheel on the market. D3 shares the MPI Safety structure and all the innovative properties that made the D2 the most popular dirt steering wheel in the market—with some added features born from the feedback of several dirt racers around the globe.

What makes the D3 wheel unique is the innovative grip feeling, the attention to detail in its construction, and the MPI technology used to improve its safety. The inner structure was engineered to deform under elevated impacts, absorbing the load and reducing the effect on the driver's upper body—an engineered safety advantage. The inner foam injection has been developed to have the highest vibration absorption rate in the industry; and the new extreme oval shaped grip makes holding the wheel an even more natural feel for the driver.

What makes the D3 different from the D2 is the new outer grip that's created with a textured polyurethane injected foam partially covered with extreme grip RG material, finished with a sporty and durable MPI Orange cross-stitched technique, giving the driver a firm grip that prevents fatigue and facilitates holding the wheel even with one-handed usage. The MPI difference is seen in the new spoke structure, featuring a rounded edge for increased safety, CNC-machined after anodization to create a black/silver contrast finish. Each wheel is individually serial numbered for traceability and comes complete with a super light center pad for added driver protection.
